How the Transfer and Filling Systems Work

Portable silo components work together to receive, store and discharge dry bulk material. The equipment shown above is a reference configuration; installed components and optional features vary by unit. Confirm compatibility with Silo City before specifying a system or ordering replacement parts.

Transfer Equipment

The rotary airlock meters material into the transfer system. Its drive controls rotor speed, while the blower supplies conveying air for a pneumatic transfer configuration. The rotor, wear tips, bearings and seals are service components within that assembly. Match replacement parts to the installed airlock and drive, rather than relying on the silo model name alone.

Filling and Dust Collection

Fill lines provide the connection for incoming material. The silo-top dust collector filters air displaced during filling. A pressure-relief valve and any fitted level or overfill controls are separate parts of the system; review their operation and maintenance in the instructions for your equipment.

Our documentation library includes data for the Donaldson Torit CPV-6 and CPV-8 dust collectors and their listed filter references. Confirm the collector model and filter part number before ordering.

Match Components to Your Silo

The GEN 1 is a mobile transfer silo. The GEN 1S adds onboard weighing, while the GEN 3 uses a boom and auger for discharge. These differences matter when selecting controls, connections and service parts. A component shown on this page is not necessarily fitted to every model.

Need Help Identifying a Part?

Send the silo model and serial number, the component label or part number, and a clear photo of the part you are asking about. Include the material being handled and a short description of the issue so our team can help identify the applicable equipment information.
