Silo Setup & Operation Guide

Plan your portable silo setup around the model, installed equipment and receiving process at your site. Use the GEN 1, GEN 1S and GEN 3 model links below to review equipment features, then confirm the instructions that apply to your unit with Silo City LLC.

Before Your Silo Arrives

Share the job location, planned start date, dry bulk material and receiving equipment with our team. Discuss delivery access, the proposed silo position and the connections your configuration requires before scheduling setup. Confirm the applicable site requirements with Silo City and your site team.

Choose Resources for Your Model

  • GEN 1: Review the mobile transfer silo configuration and request the setup and operating instructions for your unit.
  • GEN 1S: Include onboard scales and your charging and discharge process when discussing setup. Request instructions matched to the installed equipment.
  • GEN 3: Review the auger, discharge bellows and control-panel requirements. The GEN 3 Quick Start Guide (PDF) covers connections, auger preparation, filling and the high-level alarm sequence.

Keep the Correct Instructions Available

Match the silo model and serial number to its supplied documentation. Have the site team review the operating instructions before setup, and contact us if a connection, component or procedure differs from the guide. Use the model-specific instructions supplied with the equipment for the actual setup and operation.

Our documentation library also includes dust-collector data and filter references. Visit portable silo components for an overview of transfer and filling equipment.
